==History==
+
This is where the steam locamotive depot was based. It closed in 1953 and was located within the triangle of lines between the Ardrossan and Largs lines. The buildings were finally demolished in the early 1980s and the land lay bare. When the electrification came in the late 1980s part of the land was used as a halt and turn around.

This shed opened after the closure of the one at Ardrossan Town and was a brick built 4 track straight through shed with a twin gable style slate roof and included a turntable, a coal stage and a water tank.

Due to the decline of Steam it was used as a diesel stabling point after September 1965 and in September 1969 the Diesel stabling point was closed and it was used to store redundant diesels awaiting disposal.

It finally closed and demolished in 1975
