Eleanora Hunter (b. 1764)<ref name=":0">"FamilySearch".</ref> was a chief of Clan Hunter.<ref>Shaw, M.S (1925). Some Family Papers of the Hunters of Hunterston. Scottish Records Office. p. 74.</ref> Born in 1764, she inherited the position of the 24th Chief in 1796 after her father Robert Hunter died<ref name=":0" /> at the age of 86. She was more commonly known as Helen rather than Eleanora.
In March 1796 at Hunterston she married<ref name=":0" /> her cousin Robert Caldwell. In the same year, Robert returned from Maine where he had been a mariner, and devoted the rest of his life to managing the family estate and built Hunterston House in 1799.<ref>Close, Riches, Rob, Anne (2012). Her husband Robert died on 22 August 1826.<ref name=":0" />
Having greatly improved the estate, Eleanora died<ref name=":0" /> on 24 December 1851.
