This article is about a privately maintained road within Hunterston Estate
North Ayrshire's Castle Avenue road is ½ mile and passes between the 18th century walled garden and the 12th century Castle before terminating at the roundabout in front of the Mansion House which was built in 1799.
Netherton Avenue starts at the avenue gate and continues though the big wood until it reaches the mansion house.
This road would have been the main access to the mansion house when it was first built, but in later years and to present it is rarely used with all access being from the castle avenue
