Ardrossan Breakwater

The Breakwater protecting the approach to the harbour was constructed in 1886, largely with stone that had been excavated from between the area below the Castle and above the line of the rail track, as you depart Ardrossan Town Rail Station for South Beach Rail Station.

The breakwater is 1320 feet in length.
