Help:Wiki Guides
|
Wiki Guides are designed as combined FAQs and Guides for how to create the best pages you can do. Don't be put off by the fact that some of them are quite long, as they go through every section of a page, with examples.
Where to start?[edit]
The most difficult thing sometimes with something as in-depth as the SABRE Wiki, is knowing where to start. Fortunately, there are two simple places to start. Firstly, you can use the "Search" box in the left-hand menu to search for a specific item on the SABRE Wiki, be it a road, a place, a junction or any other roads feature.
Secondly, you can use the "Place" categories to see the current status of articles in or near to a particular place. Template:Clear left
- Roads by Area lists the largest and most important cities in Great Britain and Ireland
- Primary Destinations list those other places in Great Britain that have green signs pointing towards them
- Non-Primary Destinations list other places in Great Britain
- Irish Destinations lists places on the island of Ireland
Within each individual place's category, you can find charts detailing which articles are in need of work according to their star rating and other criteria. Simply click on the article's name to be taken to it.
Roads[edit]
See: Wiki Guide: Roads
Roads are at the heart of the SABRE Wiki, and are probably our most important resource. Our Roads pages are not only offer the most comprehensive resource on the road network in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the Internet, but also tie-in with SABRE Maps in showing both current and historic features of the network.
Places[edit]
See: Wiki Guide: Places
Places are an important part of the SABRE Wiki. They're pages that talk about significant settlements in Great Britain and Ireland, and all about their individual road networks - the history and development of that network, as well as functional information.
